Rajasthan means ‘The Land of Kings,’ and there could be no more apt name for this Indian state. It seems that every village, every town, has its prince and its palace, but they are all dwarfed by the opulence of the rulers of Jaipur and their lavish homes.
Many of India’s erstwhile royal families have turned to tourism to finance their lifestyles and keep their palatial residences intact. And so it is that Naila Fort, built in 1894 by the Champaway clan, has found a new lease of life as the Oberoi Group’s first luxury residence. It opened its doors to guests in February 2026, and is now one of the most exclusive places to stay in Rajasthan.
Naila Fort is a private heritage home, perched atop the Aravalli Hills in a location which is wonderfully peaceful but still close enough to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Jaipur to be convenient for sightseeing. Available for exclusive use, the property is a patchwork of sunlit courtyard, expansive terrace, and stone archways. It even has a private Hindu temple. The fort’s architectural legacy has been preserved and restored, with new facilities enhancing its value for generations to come.
Though the fort will understandably attract history lovers, its culinary offering is equally strong. Guests take their meals in the intimate dining hall, which glitters with delicate mirror work. It’s also possible to dine al fresco in the gardens or beside the swimming pool. The chefs draw their inspiration from the traditional recipes of the Rajput and Mughal courts, so you’ll not only sleep like a monarch, you’ll eat like one as well.

There are just four sumptuously decorated bedrooms at Naila Fort, so choose carefully the friends and family you treat to a stay. The rooms are decorated with antique furnishings and original artworks carefully curated by Oberoi’s interior design team. When you are ready to escape the pressures of the modern world, the elegant salons of Naila await.
